The
Guiness Book of World records should hold this
story of one of the most amazing men who ever
lived, found in the Book of first Kings. Solomon
was very wealthy and with the sole exception of
Jesus Christ, was the wisest man in human history.
Israel was at its peak of size and glory when
Solomon reigned. After his death though, the
kingdom was divided and was ruled by many kings
bringing strife and turmoil to the kingdom. First
and Second Kings are originally one in the Hebrew
Bible. The Septuagint divided this book of Kings
in the middle of the story of Ahaziah creating the
Third and Fourth Kingdoms. The First and Second
Kingdoms in the Septuagint are the Books of First
and Second Samuel. The author of First Kings is
unknown although many believe it was either
Jeremiah or one of his contemporaries. This book
was evidently written sometime before 586 B.C. and
covers 120 years of time from the beginning of
King Solomon's reign in 971 B.C. to Ahaziah's
reign which ended in 851 B.C. The turning point in
this Old Testament Bible book is found in chapter
12.

Our Father Who art in Heaven,
May Your Words of Your Bible that we have placed
on this Online Bible site, minister to all that
come to read it. May their eyes and ears be opened
to what it is that You desire for them to know. As
they read First Kings, please minister to them in
a way only You know how to. May the Words come
alive in their hearts as they yield themselves to
what it is You have for them. Thank You Heavenly
Father for sending Your One and Only Son, Jesus
Christ, to die for our sins. Thank You for making
a way for us to gain salvation. May all that hear,
believe so they too may have eternal life. Praise
Your Holy Name, Lord!
In Jesus Christ Name, we pray
Amen.
